For those of you who don't happen to be wedding photographers, planners, videographers or officiants in Chicago... the middle of August is a bit of a rest & recover period for those of us who are. In many ways my year is a toss of the dice, with weddings sprinkling themselves across my calendar differently every season. This particular July was extraordinary and full- and extraordinarily full. Thank you for your patience as I catch up this blog.
Alex and Jamie's wedding celebration at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Glen Ellyn was a long time in coming. This powerhouse couple met and started dating in undergrad and survived a long long distance while each earned their respective graduate degrees. This couple is whip-smart, but what is striking about them (and their families) is their warmth and dedication to the people in their lives. Alex and Jamie have a genuine love and affection for one another grounded in a welcoming, truly wonderful community of faith and friendship. As someone who attends weddings nearly every weekend, I can say I was inspired- and not just by the phenomenal risotto at their reception at Adelle's in Wheaton. (But, really.)
It is always my hope that my photographs not only capture the events of a wedding day but more than that, the tone and atmosphere. This one certainly celebrates Love in its depth and levity.
