Myjken and Shawn (or "Shawnie" as she calls him) share a love story that has spanned time, distance, struggles and victories. I hadn't met these two personally before their wedding day, but in our phone conversations leading up to September 24, 2016, I'd gotten the feeling this was going to be a day to remember- and this was before Myjken surprised me by arriving to the riverfront ceremony in a lovely white horse-drawn carriage! (Look up Hileman Carriage Service) The moment when Shawnie saw Myjken, he couldn't help himself- and neither could I when I was editing! You've been warned: this is the sweetest tearjerker you'll see all week.
Myjken is a writer and artist, a lover of style, fine art, fashion, photography and travel. She and her family gave me plenty of details and decor and big moments to work with throughout the day. (This is only the sneak peek, and I can't share ALL the amazing photos from this day... trust me, it was hard to pare this wedding preview down to 50+ images as it stands.) The bride and the bridesmaids prepared for the ceremony in her bridal suite at the Embassy Suites by Hilton East Peoria Riverfront Hotel.
I feel a deep gratitude to my friend and fellow photographer/videographer, Courtney Cimo, for taking me up on my invitation to make the trek from the Chicago suburbs to Peoria with me for this special wedding and co-creating such lovely, timeless images. Whenever there's a second angle on a particularly poignant moment from this wedding ceremony, bless up!
